IT transformation is a complete reassessment and overhaul of an organization’s information technology (IT) systems to improve the efficiency and delivery in a digital economy. It can involve changes to, and modernization of, network architecture, hardware, software, IT service management, and how data is stored and accessed.
Application and Data Management services form an integral part of any future technology strategy. Working with a partner that has a clear methodology for success ensures the appropriate priority on understanding the here and now and a phased approach to reaching the companies desired digital maturity.
Bamboo Technical Solutions Architects and Project Managers engage decision makers in an assessment to understand existing services and future technology strategy. We then run kick-off sessions within a week of budget sign off to present the project team, discuss future technology aims and agree early project deliverables and plans. We then use a scenario driven assessment approach to fully understand project direction taking the following steps:
Step 1: Business Process Review – A high-level logical view of the existing business processes is mapped by Architects. Assessed against a Responsibility Assignment Matrix we identify key stakeholders and accountable persons. Based on this review, a process mapping exercise is completed to document the key operational requirements and technology aims of the business. The customer signs off on our understanding.
Step 2: Existing Application Alignment: An analysis is undertaken of the aligned systems and technology landscape. This identifies which systems and data support the process flows and dependencies identified in Step 1. The customer again signs off.
Step 3: Detailed Architectural Assessment of Applications: A more detailed architecture assessment will now be completed including a business impact and security compliance assessment. Bamboo’s Director of Resilience, Head of Compliance and Technical Architects produce this for sign off by the customer.
Step 4: Operational Maturity and Process Improvement: Combining the business process and application reviews we will identify technology optimisation and strategic opportunities such as automation, AI or ML.
Step 5: Technology Strategy and Roadmap: The final stage is to combine all the information, improvement opportunities into a strategic roadmap and propose recommended solutions.
The customers technology aims and needs inform weighting of recommended options. The customer continues to inform, shape and develop designs until final sign off is achieved.
